(Washington, D.C.) – Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) released the following statement after she voted to pass the Conference Report of the Supplemental Appropriations Bill of 2009. The bill passed the Senate by a vote of 91-5.
"This bill gives our service members the equipment, training, and care they need. That includes providing more mine resistant vehicles, funding our Stryker brigades, helping Afghanistan and Iraq take responsibility for their own security, and expanding care for our wounded warriors when they return home.
"Taking care of the best military in the world, both when they are deployed and when they come home, is a responsibility I take extremely seriously. Our service members and their families deserve to know that their sacrifices are being met with our support."
