Washington, D.C.—Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), a senior member of the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, released the following statement after the full Committee voted to support the nomination of Sharon Block to serve as a Member of the National Labor Relations Board. Block’s nomination will now go to the full Senate for consideration.
“I am very glad that Sharon Block’s nomination passed through the Committee today and I am hopeful we can move this highly qualified nominee through the Senate as quickly as possible. The NLRB plays an important role in making sure workers and employers across the country are being treated fairly, and it’s in our best interests as a country to make sure that the Board is fully staffed up and operational. It’s about time that we move beyond the political fights and partisan sniping and work together to make sure the NLRB is working quickly and effectively for workers, for businesses, and for the economy.”
