(Washington, D.C.) – Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray released the following statement on the explosion and fire in Anacortes that killed three and injured four earlier today:
“I am deeply saddened by the tragic explosion and fire in Anacortes earlier today. I join with the families and local community in mourning those who lost their lives, and in praying for those who are injured. There is a lot that is still unknown about the causes of this heartbreaking accident, but as we learn more we need to work together to make sure that we are doing everything we can to protect our workers and prevent tragedies like this from happening again.”
