Murray Statement on Testimony of Condoleezza Rice Before the 9/11 Commission

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – U.S. Senator Patty Murray today commented on National Security Advisor Rice’s appearance before the 9/11 Commission. Murray’s statement follows.

“I applaud the 9/11 Commission for their dedication and ongoing commitment to getting at the truth. I also commend National Security advisor Rice for testifying today and for her efforts to move the Commission’s investigation forward.

NSA advisor Rice’s testimony is critical to understanding prior intelligence failures and determining how to prevent future attacks. Every American has the right to know that our government is taking the right steps to ensure the security of our nation.

There are still many unanswered questions. I encourage the Administration to be forthcoming with information and to make investments in intelligence and security efforts to protect Americans from harm.”
