Today, after being briefed by state and local officials on the ongoing search and rescue operations in Snohomish County and the continued response to Saturday’s landslide, Senator Murray released the following statement:
“All of our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this awful tragedy and their families today, including those whose loved ones are still missing. I’m incredibly proud and grateful for the brave work of our first responders, who have put their own lives at risk to save others and protect our communities. My office and I are working closely with Governor Inslee and all the emergency response teams on the ground to provide any assistance we can. In the coming days and weeks, I will continue to be briefed on all state and local response efforts, and if federal assistance is required, I will ensure that Washington state gets all the federal resources it needs.”
