Murray Statement on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

"Getting our housing finance system back on track will require reform of the federal regulation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. But if Americans are required to buy stock in these companies or guarantee their securities, it is critical that taxpayers’ interests be protected.  Senate Democrats stand ready to work with the President to address this issue quickly and in the best interest of the American taxpayers."
