Murray Statement on Establishment of Bipartisan Fiscal Commission

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) issued the following statement after President Obama signed an executive order establishing the bipartisan National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform

“The President’s decision to help bring Republicans and Democrats together to find common sense solutions to our fiscal challenges is the right thing to do for our economy and future. We have a responsibility to future generations to not only get our economy back on track, but to do it in a way that doesn’t cost them their prosperity. That will take making hard choices and finding bi-partisan solutions. Washington state families know about coming together to make tough decisions to get their budget in order, they should expect nothing less from Washington, D.C.”
