(Washington, D.C.) – Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray met with the family of Kenneth Bae, an American citizen and Washington state resident currently detained in North Korea.
For more than a year, Senator Murray and her staff have been working closely with Mr. Bae’s family and the State Department to bring Mr. Bae home safely and immediately. Senator Murray has spoken directly with Secretary of State John Kerry, and continues to work closely with Secretary Kerry and Robert King, the U.S. Special Envoy for North Korean Human Rights Issues, to engage the North Korean government directly and bring Mr. Bae back to the United States.
