(Washington, D.C.) – Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) 
			announced that two Washington state small shipyards will receive a total
			of $1,976,362 to make critical infrastructure investments that will 
			help them continue to grow and create jobs in the state. The grants came
			through the Maritime Administration’s (MARAD) Supplemental Grants for 
			Assistance to Small Shipyards program. As the Chairman of the 
			Transportation and Housing Appropriations Subcommittee overseeing 
			funding for the Department of Transportation and MARAD, Murray fought to
			include support for small shipyards in this year’s budget. 
  “I’m
			thrilled that small shipyards in Seattle and Bellingham will get this 
			crucial financial boost to help them create jobs and make vital capital 
			improvements,” Senator Murray said.  “Small shipyards in Washington 
			state are a critical piece of our domestic maritime industry and our 
			economy.  Especially while families in Washington state continue to 
			struggle, these grants are important to helping our domestic shipping 
			industry stay strong and competitive.”
  The 
			following Washington state shipyards received grants today:
- 
Pacific Fishermen Shipyard and Electric LLC 
 (Seattle, WA)- $643,095 for worker training program, sand blast paint
 and booths, sand blast grit recovery systems, man lifts and 15-ton crane
- Puglia Engineering, Inc. (Bellingham, WA)- 
 $1,333,267 for floating drydock enhancements, 80-ton rough terrain crane
