WASHINGTON, D.C. —Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) released the following statement on the Senate’s bipartisan vote to avoid a crisis in the Highway Trust Fund:
“Today the Senate moved forward on important legislation to avoid a completely unnecessary construction shutdown. I am glad that Republicans have pushed aside the Tea Party and are working with us to avoid this crisis, and I am hopeful that we can finalize this bill and then build on this bipartisan step to work toward a responsible long-term solution to the Highway Trust Fund’s revenue shortfall.”
