Murray Presides over Promotion Ceremony of Spokane Army Officer

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) presided over the promotion ceremony of Spokane-native Sean Scott as he was promoted to the rank of Colonel from Lieutenant Colonel.  Senator Murray led Colonel Scott in reciting the Oath of Office and presented him with the pin that signifies his new rank.  Colonel Scott’s family applied the official insignia to his Army uniform.

“It’s a true honor to help recognize the many years of service Colonel Scott and his family have given our country,” Murray said after the ceremony.

Colonel Scott is a native of Washington State and a graduate of Central Valley High School in Spokane.  His previous awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (2nd Award), the Meritorious Service Medal (3rd award), the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (2nd Award), and the Air Assault Badge.
