(WASHINGTON) – Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) announced today that the U.S. Department of Transportation will release a discretionary grant in the amount of $10.1788 million to the Port of Seattle to fund noise abatement measures for buildings near Sea-Tac airport.
As ranking Democrat on the Senate Transportation Appropriations Subcommittee, Murray secured these funds for Washington state in the Transportation Appropriations bill.
“I’m pleased to announce this grant to help improve quality of life for Sea-Tac area residents. This funding will allow Sea-Tac to continue efficient service while protecting the community from unwanted noise.
