(Washington, D.C.) – Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) released the following statement after House Speaker John Boehner announced his chamber will accept the Senate’s bipartisan compromise on the payroll tax cut:
“I’m pleased that House Republicans have decided to end their hold-out in our efforts to support middle-class families, laid-off workers and seniors. This bipartisan agreement will help give anxious Washington state families a measure of economic security through the holiday season. It will also allow us to continue working toward what Democrats have been fighting for all along – a year-long extension of these critical middle-class supports.”
