(Washington, D.C.) – Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), Chair of the Senate Transportation Appropriations Subcommittee, applauded the U.S. Department of Transportation’s announcement that the Walla Walla Regional Airport, Rosalia Municipal Airport, and Pullman/Moscow Regional Airport will receive federal grants. The funding will enable the airports to keep pace with the changing needs of their communities and help with the rapid growth of passengers flying in and out of the airports.
Auburn Municipal Airport in King County will also receive federal funding.
“I’m pleased that we are continuing to invest in our state’s airports so they can continue to play a strong role in supporting the economy and transportation needs of Washington,” said Senator Murray.
Breakdown of funding is as follows:
- $1,863,200 to Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport for snow removal equipment and infrastructure improvements
- $125,000 to Rosalia Municipal Airport for runway rehabilitation
- $225,000 to Walla Walla Regional Airport for security enhancements
- $450,000 to Auburn Municipal Airport for runway rehabilitation
