NLRB: Senator Murray’s Statement on Sharon Block Hearing

Washington, D.C—Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), a senior member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, released the following statement after the Committee hearing on the nomination of Sharon Block to serve as a member of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

“I am pleased that President Obama has chosen to nominate Sharon Block once again for a seat on the NLRB. I truly hope that my colleagues don’t continue to drag political battles over the NLRB into what should be an easy debate on a highly qualified nominee. Workers, businesses, and the economy benefit from a fully staffed and operational NLRB that is able to do its job quickly and effectively, and confirming this nominee would move us one step closer to that goal. I urge my colleagues to move this nomination out of Committee and through the full Senate as quickly as possible.”
