Sen. Murray Continues Push to Restart Bipartisan Health Care Negotiations: “Ready to Keep Working”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Patty  Murray (D-WA), ranking member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, issued the following statement echoing Senator John McCain’s call for regular order and bipartisanship on health care and urged resumed bipartisan negotiations on stabilizing health care markets and protecting families from higher premiums.

“I agree with Senator McCain that the right way to get things done in the Senate—especially on an issue as important to families as their health care—is through regular order and working together to find common ground. I’m still at the table ready to keep working, and I remain confident that we can reach a bipartisan agreement as soon as this latest partisan approach by Republican leaders is finally set aside.”
