(Washington, D.C.) — Today, Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) released the following statement as the nation remembers those lost in the September 11th terror attacks.
“On this day, we remember the innocent lives lost in the devastating attacks of September 11th, including first responders who so bravely gave their lives in the service of others. As Americans, we also take this day to thank those who serve our country in the armed forces, and those veterans who have sacrificed so much to keep us safe and protect our hard-won freedoms and rights. September 11th, 2001, was an awful day in our nation’s history, but the strength and resilience of the American people shined bright, and in our darkest hours, we came together and made it clear that we will never allow terrorists to defeat us.”
