At a press conference today, Senator Murray thanked the Dole-Shalala commission for making recommendations. But the Senator warned that the President must take quick action to implement the report’s recommendations.

Senator Murray:

“I am concerned that this Dole-Shalala Commission report will end up like all the other bipartisan commission reports that we have seen come before us in the last years - whether it's the 9-11 Commission Report that sat on a shelf or the Iraq Study Commission that has sat on a shelf.  We hope that this is not a report that just gets dusty in the President’s office after a photo op.  The truth is that the men and women that have fought for us don’t want to see a report end up on a shelf. They want to see action.”
